This Starfighter memorial is in Söllingen, a village close to the airfield, and commemorates the Royal Canadian Air Force (1963-1967) and Canadian Armed Forces (1968-1983 ) stay in the region flying the CF-104 Starfighter. Click HERE to see the same aircraft mounted at its then-location just outside the main-gate at Canadian Forces Base Baden-Söllingen back in the 1970s and 1980s, when I was station there 1979-1983.
